What is EgyptAir NDC?
EgyptAir NDC is the Egyptian flag carrier’s IATA New Distribution Capability offer and order management platform, built on TPConnects’ Astra solution. Travel agencies use it through an NDC booking portal or an NDC API to search, book, ticket, add ancillaries and handle aftersales.
EgyptAir launched its TPConnects-powered NDC offer and order management solution in 2023, put its NDC content on the TPConnects Iris aggregator in 2025, and in July 2026 became the first Middle East and Africa airline to deploy IATA NDC 24.4 in production. In the same month Travelport agreed to add EgyptAir NDC content alongside its existing EDIFACT distribution. See our plain-English guide to NDC for the standard itself.

Ways to access EgyptAir content
You can connect to EgyptAir directly through its NDC portal or API, through a GDS (EDIFACT, with Travelport adding NDC content), or through an aggregator.
| EgyptAir NDC (direct) | GDS | Aggregator (Tripgic) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Agencies and OTAs that want full EgyptAir NDC content and servicing | Agencies already working in a GDS | OTAs, B2B platforms and startups that want REST/JSON |
| What you build | EgyptAir’s NDC API, or use the EgyptAir NDC booking portal | EDIFACT workflow; Travelport is adding EgyptAir NDC content as it becomes available | One REST API; EgyptAir fares blended with GDS, NDC and LCC content |
| Airline changes | You track EgyptAir’s NDC releases | Handled by the GDS | Handled in Tripgic’s connector; your JSON stays the same |
| Other airlines | EgyptAir only | Full GDS content | Other NDC airlines, 3 GDS networks and 67 LCCs |
EgyptAir NDC vs GDS (EDIFACT) bookings
- Servicing: the NDC portal and API cover search, booking, ticketing, ancillaries and aftersales; NDC 24.4 adds penalty visibility and better order status tracking.
- Ancillaries: EgyptAir sells ancillaries over NDC, and Travelport says its NDC layer will bring a broader range of EgyptAir ancillary services.
- Order accounting: with NDC 24.4, EgyptAir reports real-time, order-based reconciliation and automatic proration.
- No published surcharge: we found no EgyptAir surcharge on GDS bookings and no date for Travelport NDC content going live.
